Cookie Policy

We use cookies to give you the best possible experience. Find out more about how we use cookies below.

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small file of numbers and letters that often includes an identifier which is unique to you. This is sent to your device's web browser from our website's computer and is stored on your device's hard drive. Cookies allow us to recognise your device if you choose to allow them, like if you came into a shop and we recognised you.

You should be aware that information about you may be collected through the use of cookies when you use The Soccer Store. It is essential that we use some cookies, as without these 'essential' cookies you will not be able to use our website. Some cookies, however, whilst useful, are not essential, and by using The Soccer Store you agree to the use of these 'non-essential' cookies unless you specifically set your browser to reject them. Please check the 'Help' menu of your browser to learn how to change your cookie preferences.

Please note that cookies can't harm your computer. We don't store personally identifiable information in cookies, but we do use encrypted information gathered from them to help improve your experience of the site. For example, they help us to make our website even better, or to show you relevant products related to products that you've previously viewed.

How does The Soccer Store use cookies?

At The Soccer Store, cookies record information about your online preferences and allow us to tailor the website to your needs and wants. Whenever you visit The Soccer Store, the pages that you view, along with a cookie, are downloaded to your device. This lets us store information to operate the site as you move from one page to another. We use cookies to help us analyse the profile of our visitors and to provide them with a more personalised experience, so we can give you the best possible experience.

We use a number of different cookies for when you are at different stages of our website. Our cookies do not store any sensitive or confidential information, such as your financial information, and they do not store any information which allows us to directly identify you (like your name or your address). They simply allow our website to retrieve this information from our systems so that we can personalise your experience of our website.

Because we rely on cookies to personalise your experience, your browser needs to be set up to accept cookies before you can place an order with The Soccer Store. If you do choose not to accept our cookies, you will not be able to shop on our site.

How to manage cookies

If you wish to restrict, block or delete cookies from The Soccer Store, or any other website, you can use your browser to do this. You can set your computer, mobile or device to accept, notify, or even reject all cookies, the choice is yours. Each browser is different, so please check the 'Help' menu of your browser to learn how to change your cookie preferences.

Please be aware, if you block cookies from The Soccer Store, you may not be able to fully use our website, and certain features of our website cannot be provided to you.

Do not track (DNT) is a feature offered by some browsers, with some newer browsers offering it as default. If you enable it, it sends a signal to websites to request that your browsing isn't tracked, for example by third party ad or social networks, or analytic companies. At present no industry-wide uniform standard has been agreed and adopted to determine how DNT requests should be managed, so our website doesn't currently respond to DNT requests. Until that standard is established, we'll continue to review DNT and other new technologies, but won't respond to DNT requests.

Types of cookies used by The Soccer Store

Tracking cookies
Cookies are used to track your use of The Soccer Store and to give us various statistics. These statistics do not identify individuals, they simply give us an overview of general browsing patterns. We use these cookies to identify which parts of the website are most popular and to improve our website accordingly.

We use tracking cookies from web analytics services provided by Google. These cookies collect information including, but not limited to, number of visits, amount of time spent browsing, how you got to our website, which pages were viewed, and the journey through our webpages. All information collected by these cookies is anonymous.

Customisation cookies
We use these to recognise repeat customers and to customise their experience based on past behaviour. When you first visit The Soccer Store, we may place an anonymous cookie on your browser so that we can recognise you when you next visit the website. We may also place a further cookie on your browser when you make a purchase, which enables us to remember you when you next come to sign in, so you don't need to re-enter login details. This also allows us to customise your future use of the website.

Search marketing and advertising cookies

We may also place cookies on your browser to show you behavioural advertising when browsing the internet or when using search engines. If you opt out of these cookies, this does not mean that you won't see advertisements from The Soccer Store when browsing the internet, it simply means that the adverts will not be customised to you.

Advertising on other websites
This type of advertising is designed to provide you with a selection of products based on what you've viewed on The Soccer Store, which are then presented to you when you visit other selected websites. The adverts may show alternative styles and colours as well as complementary products from other categories deemed relevant to you based on your browsing history. The technology behind these adverts is based on cookies.

How to opt out of search marketing and advertising cookies
If you don't want your data used by Google Analytics, you can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on at any time. To opt out of Analytics for the web, visit the Google Analytics opt-out page and install the add-on for your browser. Learn more about the opt-out and how to properly install the browser add-on here. You can also opt out of Google Analytics for Display Advertising and customise Google Display Network ads using the Ads Settings.

Third-party cookies

When you visit The Soccer Store you may notice content from other websites which we add to improve your experience, for example a video from YouTube showing you how to assemble a goal. If you go on to a web page that contains embedded content like this, you may be sent cookies from these websites. We don't control the setting of these cookies, so we suggest you check their websites for more information about their cookies and how to manage them.

If you choose to 'share' The Soccer Store content with friends through social networks, such as Facebook and Twitter, you may also be sent cookies from these websites. We don't control the setting of these cookies, so we suggest that you check their websites for more information about their cookies and how to manage them.

The service works by combining both analysis tools and feedback tools, including heatmaps, visitor recordings, conversion funnels, form analytics, feedback tools such as polls and surveys, incoming feedback and recruitment of user testers.

Hotjar-enabled sites use cookies to collect non-personal information including standard internet log information and details of your behavioural patterns upon visiting our site. This is done to enable The Soccer Store to provide you with a better experience, identify preferences, diagnose technical problems, analyse trends and generally to help us improve our website.
