What to look for when buying Kids Football Goals :
- Size of Garden
- Age of Child
- Type of Football Goal
- Goal Post Safety
- Durability of Goal
- Cost of Goal Posts
- Goal set up.
- Goal Maintenance
1. SIZE OF YOUR GARDEN
The size of your garden is the most important factor to consider when choosing your kids football goals. If you only have a small area, there is no point in choosing a goal which is too large for the space. Use some garden canes to mark out the space that the goal will take up and see how it fits into the garden
2. AGE OF CHILDREN USING THE GOAL
The FA Recommended size for kids goal posts is 12 x 6ft for under 7s to under 10s and 16 x 7ft for under 11s to under 12s. However, refer back to point 1 as you would need a lot of space to accommodate a 12 x 6 or 16 x 7 goal. For home use the most popular size football goals for kids are the 6 x 4, 8 x 4 or 8 x 6 goal.
3. TYPE OF KIDS FOOTBALL GOAL
If the goal is to be used at home and needs to be left outside all year round, we would recommend one of the Samba Goals. These goals are robust, weatherproof and long lasting. They will take anything that your kids can kick at them.
For a truly portable goal we would recommend a Progoal. They can be carried down to the park or beach and are easy for kids to set up in a matter of minutes.
If you are looking for a top of the range kids goal then one of our MH Aluminium goals will certainly fit the bill.
All of the goals on this page come with a full 365 day return policy as standard. We also offer free delivery on all kids goal posts over £50. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to give us a call.
4. Goal Post Safety
It is important that the football goals you choose comply with the relevant BS Standards for football goals. A recent amendment to this is that nets should have 100mm squares to prevent entrapment of body parts. Our Samba and MH goals all comply to the relevant safety standards.
5. Durability of Goal
The goals you chose should be of a solid construction and carry a 1-year guarantee for all parts. A good junior football goal will last for years if looked after correctly. The nets should be at least 2.5mm thick and be weather and rot proof or they will quick perish.
6. Cost of Goal Posts
You should set you budget and choose your goal accordingly. We offer a wide range of junior goals to suit all budgets. Our entry level Samba Goals offer great value for money for a quality goal. If you see a goal elsewhere at a price that seems too good to be true, then it probably is.
7. Goal Set Up
Your goals should be set up in accordance with the instructions provided. The goal frame should be anchored down to keep it in shape and stop it from moving and the net should be attached to the goal using all of the net clips provided. If you have any problems with set up, please do not hesitate to contact us.
8. Goal Maintenance
In general kid’s goals will only need the minimum of maintenance. A quick wipe down once a year to prevent a build-up of dirt or moss and a check to make sure the ground anchors are in place should be enough for a Samba Goal. The same applies to the MH Aluminium Goals along with a quick check to make sure all nuts and bolts have not come loose.
